The major fact you have to note is that NetStatus is first of all configured for US systems.
What does it mean?
It means that NS looks into your Preferences folder (in System Folder) and try to look at preferences for OT/PPP or ARA, TCP/IP and Modem.
What if I get an error at startup and if I have a System other than US?
Ok, there is an easy way to configure NS for your system. Here's the steps:
1- Locate these files in your Preferences folder:
-The folder "Remote Access" that contains ARA or OT/PPP preferences. Save the name (1).
-In this same folder locate the file "Remote Access Connections". Save the name(2).
-In the Prefs folder look for the TCP/IP preferences file. Save the name(3).
-Look for the Modem preferences file. Save the name(4).
2-Open NetStatus Pro application with a resource editor like ResEdit or Resourcerer.
3-Locate the 'STR#' resource ID = 170 and open it.
4-Change the resource strings to the one you saved in step 1 (same order as the number in parentheses).
This should work now. Please send me those strings for my records and for other users. Send them to juggy@kagi.com.
Remember that you can send me any comments to juggy@kagi.com and that the complete documentation is accessible in the documentation folder or on the net at my web site http://pages.infinit.net/juggy/netstatus.html.
Thanks for you support!
Release Notes
NetStatus Pro 1.2
There is not much to talk about release 1.2 FAT.
Notes from 1.0 still apply in version 1.2.
First of all you can see that the Timer window is more usefull than ever: you can see the current speed updated at each 1/2 second of all your connections. And you can see the data transfered bytes per bytes.
More deaply, you can see that the preference panel is also a little bit change (4 digits in the edit fields). One important thing about preferences and time compilation is that due to some changes in the way I save the data I needed to recreate the pref file. What does this mean? It means that all your data is lost when using this software (not the old data). If I can suggest you something: I would use the last version to the end of the month and then make the transition to 1.2.
As I said I cahnge a few thing in the way I save data to disk. First of all, there was a limitation of about 4 GB of transfered data with the last version (1.0), with version 1.2 you now have plenty of space (believe me 2e64 bytes!).
Thanks for all your registrations (past and future) and for your good support towards JuggySoft.
